Should I stick to my calorie goal every day?

Of course, it would be great if you came close to achieving your goal every day. However, small day-to-day differences are completely normal and nothing to worry about. Some days, you will be hungrier than others. There are so many factors that have an effect on what and how much we eat because eating is so much more than just an intake of calories. It’s strongly connected to your emotions, body sensations, pleasure, and social aspects, amongst others. All of these factors have to be taken into account, as well. Every day is different, so it is only normal that your eating behavior varies daily, too.

The calorie goal should be a point of reference and a tool to help you have an overview of your eating behavior. For example, if you significantly exceed your calorie goal in one day, you will be able to see precisely which foods played a key role there. With time, you will learn which foods have many calories and which are surprisingly low in calories.

What’s most important is that you try to meet your calorie goal on average over the course of the week. Should you, for example, exceed your calorie goal one day, you can simply balance it out accordingly on another day.

Even if you’re very goal-oriented and ambitious, we recommend not to be too strict regarding your calorie goal and encourage you to find a healthy balance that works for you. Counting calories should not become the focus of your everyday life!

Since every metabolism is different and every body reacts differently to consumed food, the goals calculated in the YAZIO app should only be seen as a recommendation and not a guaranteed, fixed value.

We hope that you were able to find answers to all your questions and wish you a great journey with YAZIO.
