Can I also keep track of my visceral fat with Yazio?

Visceral fat is a “hidden” type of body fat stored within the abdominal cavity. It's located near several vital organs, including the liver, stomach, and intestines. It's also referred to as "active fat" because it plays an active role in how the body functions and can also increase the risk of health problems.

Although Yazio can't measure visceral fat directly, as a CT scan or an MRI could do, you can indirectly observe your visceral fat levels by measuring your waist circumference. This simple methodology has been shown to be a good indicator of visceral fat levels. 💡

A larger waist circumference often suggests higher amounts of visceral fat. By constantly registering your waist circumference, weight, food intake, and activity levels, the app can hint towards whether you may gradually decrease your visceral fat.

However, it's always best to consult a healthcare provider for exact measurements and advice. 🌱
